Twana Louise Burton, 83, Springfield, Ohio received her wings as she was surrounded by her loving family on October 17, 2024. She was born January 21, 1941, to Ora Lee (Lipscomb) and Ollie James Thompson.

Twana attended Springfield City Schools and served many years as a faithful employee for Joseph Skilken Organization until the time of retirement.  She was a social butterfly, she loved life, and she loved her family and friends.  Twana loved line dancing.  Dancing was her all-time hobby.  She was a true die-hard Steelers fans and would let you know her team was the bomb! She loved sitting at her dining room table for hours at a time working her jigsaw puzzles.

Mom leaves to cherish her memory her seven children, Arlena L. Crochran, Andre (Cindy) Thompson, William Lance Thompson, Phillip L. Harris and Kim L. Harris all of Springfield, Ohio, Regina L. Thompson of Columbus, Ohio, and Felicia (Nate) Marshall of Cleveland, Ohio; she also leaves to cherish her memory her two nieces, Helyn Waddell and Sharlyne Galloway; her special friend, Tonya Herring; her bonus daughters, Dawn (Michael) Gaines and Bobbi (Chris) Gault, 27 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.  Twana was preceded in death by her loving parents; two sisters, Elizabeth Christina Galloway and Jay Ann Thompson; her husband, Francis Denny Burton; a special friend, Leonard Beale and two grandsons, Eric Dywayne Howard and Ajamu Ali Gaines Jr.

Visitation is Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon in St. John Missionary Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.  Please join the family for a repast following the burial at 2205 Park Road Springfield, Ohio 45504.
