Tobie Marie Crockran

Tobie Marie “mabel, Zelda b. mild” Crockran, 45, was called home by the Lord on Saturday, May 22, 2021.  Tobie was born Friday, December 12, 1975, in Springfield, OH, to the late Jesse Crockran, Jr. and Viola (Ramey) Wellington of Springfield, OH.

Tobie was a lifelong member of the Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.  She was active in the Youth Department and served faithfully on the Kitchen Committee. She attended Springfield City Schools and graduated from Clark County Joint Vocational Cosmetology School; she was a certified STNA.  Tobie was employed by Liberty Home Healthcare as a healthcare worker.  She dedicated her life to tending to those with disabilities.  In her spare time, she cooked for her loved ones, wrote poems, and joined karaoke nights with friends.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, often filled with laughter. 

Tobie was known for her joyous laugh and infectious smile.  She was a lovely woman with a giving heart.  Tobie’s love was unconditional and unwavering, even when she had nothing to give, she made a way to put a smile on others’ faces.  She was the life of the party no matter where she went, she was a friendly spirited woman who helped anyone in need no matter their situation.

She understood her purpose on this earth was to give love to others even with anything in return.  She loved intentionally and encouraged those around her to never give up and to give praise to God.

Tobie is survived by her loving mother and stepfather, Viola and George Wellington; significant other of 24 years, Rudolph Looney; her children, Jessica McClure (DeOnca Davis), Ta’Lasia Colvin (Desmond Holmes), Jade Crockran (Friedrich Williams), Dominique Watkins and Kordell Looney;  grandchildren, Daliyah McClure, Edyn Williams, Justice Williams, Jacieion Watkins and Tylynnd Watkins; siblings, John (Belinda) Walker, Jr., Tina and Larry Brown, Todd Walker, Venetta (Tim) Crockran, Trevor (Diana) Crockran, Sr., all children of George Wellington Family, many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and her abundance of close friends.

Tobie was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Crockran, Jr., maternal grandparents, Deacon Joseph and Alice Ramey and paternal grandparents, Jesse and Bessie Crockran.
