Stephen Allen age 51 of Dayton, Ohio transitioned unexpectedly on November 3, 2020 with his family by his side in Springfield, Ohio. Stephen was born on December 2, 1968 in Dayton, Ohio to his mother, Annie G. Allen.
Stephen leaves to cherish, his loving wife, Phyllis Michelle Allen; sister, Jennifer Allen (Atlanta, Georgia) and two brothers: Michael Allen (Tampa Florida) and William Pippins (Dayton, Ohio); daughter, Brandi White; three sons: Lavon Robinson, Rayshawn Buford, and Tyson White; and 18 grandchildren. Stephen also leaves to cherish, his prayer partner of three years, Martin Jackson; two best friends: Ronald Shoecraft and Waylon Darrell; and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends of the family.
Stephen was a devoted member and Chaplain of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he also cherished the brothers of their group called Voices of Thunder. Stephen was an avid music lover and worked as a disc jockey and mixing engineer for several years. Stephen loved spending time with his grandchildren. Stephen dared to be unique and “one a kind” as his wife would say. Stephen was in the process of writing a book. His hobbies included: fishing, collecting comic books, old toys and sports cards. Stephen’s best hobby was making music and watching scientific movies. Stephen’s love for his best friend, confidant, soulmate, girlfriend and lastly, his wife was unconditional and their bond will always remain unbroken. The love story that never ends.
Stephen was preceded in death by his mother Annie and father figure William Pippins Sr.; his mother in love, Jean Daniels; brothers in love: Phillip White and Hugh Prater; as well as one niece, Tiffany Bass.
The funeral service will be held on November 11, 2020 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church. 34 W. Pleasant St., Mulberry entrance. The viewing will begin at 1:00 pm with services following at 2:00 pm. The repass will be held at the L where the funeral will also be privately streaming live for those who would like to join in on the home going of Mr. Allen.
