Sherman Daniel Dean, 34, of Springfield Ohio passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. He was born April 8, 1988 in Louisville, KY to Charles L. (Deano) Dean and the late Belinda (Maysey) Kemp.
He was named after his late grandfather, Sherman Dean. He spent the majority of his life in Springfield and graduated from Springfield South High School in 2006.
Sherman will be remembered for his silly sense of humor and adventurous spirit. He loved listening to all kinds of music. One of his favorite songs was “A Change is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke. He had a BIG appetite and loved good food, especially buffets! He enjoyed playing video games and was very tech savvy with electronics. He had a mind of his own, lived by his own rules and could be stubborn at times. But he was also lovable, kind and generous.
Sherman is preceded in death by his mother, Belinda Pauline (Maysey) Kemp. He is survived by his father, Charles L. Dean “Deano”; his six siblings, Ricky Dean, Tonia Dean Thomas (Robert), Nicole Dean, Stephanie Kemp, Tracy Lynn Moore and Joey Faris along with a great nephew and another great nephew due any day now, several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, a host of cousins and many close friends. Sherman peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones. He loved his family very much and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. He gave the gift of life as an organ donor. May he rest in peace.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 34 West Pleasant Street in Springfield, Ohio. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon. Please use the Mulberry Street entrance to the church.
