Rodney (Hoot) L. McMahon Sr., 56, of Springfield, Ohio went home to be with the lord on Friday, May 9th at his residence. He was born on February 14th, 1964 in Shelbyville, TN the son of Ida Pearl McMahon and Leander Soles. Hoot worked for SMHA for over 20 years, and for any home repairs everyone in the area called on Hoot--he could fix just about anything! He was currently employed at Leidal & Hart Mason Contractors as a Masonry Specialist, and he helped to build some of the toughest masonry construction projects in our area including the NTPRD Chiller Ice Rink in Springfield. Hoot was a member of My Church, and he loved his family and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers play football while sitting in his Pittsburgh Steelers chair, and playing cards.
In his loving memory he leaves to cherish, his wife Pearlie Jackson; children; twin sons, Rodney and Rodgerick McMahon, and their mother, Serena Lawson; one daughter, Bridget January; grandchildren, Rai’Yan McMahon, Rod’Janae McMahon, Gary Lawson, Ne’Zeria January, Na’Vaj DeArmond, Lahela Beard and Duane Crawford; nine sisters, Delores (Andre) Gaines, Lisa Moore, Pamela Higgins (John Upshaw), Daisy Andrews (Cincinnati, OH), Terri McMahon, Tina (Will) Cole, Monja Frambo and Linda and Angie Gilbreath; honorary siste,r Cecilia Greene; two brothers, Tony McMahon (Tullahoma, TN), James (Marie) Soles, and best friend, Pinky Jordan. A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Vickie L. Soles. Visitation is Friday, May 15, 2020 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon at My Church, 330 S. Plum St., Pastor Sim Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. Visitation will be in accordance to the State of Ohio's regulations in regard to the COVID-19 crisis. [4856912458118140789681496]
