Orland L. Jones Jr.

Orland "Bus" Lemuel Jones Jr., 99, of Springfield, Ohio  entered his heavenly home on Friday, July 7, 2023.  He was surrounded his family at Southbrook Health Care Center.  He was born September 7, 1923 in Mechanicsburg, Ohio the son of Orland L. and Ruby (Howard) Jones Sr.

Orland attended Mechanicsburg High School.  He started working on Woodland Farms of Mechanicsburg at the age of 13 until the age of 88.  Farming was his life long career which he enjoyed everyday.  We would take Dad to visit the farm almost monthly because of the love he had for it.  A week prior to his death he went to the farm to check on the growth of the corn and soybeans to make sure they were at the proper height and check the wheat that was soon to be harvested.

There was nothing he wouldn't do for anyone.  Every person that crossed paths with him loved him and said what a kind soul he had.

Orland was a loving and devoted husband, father and papaw.  He is survived by his children, Tracy Jones, Leo Jones, Jody (Asa) Canaday, Bonnie Jones and Leslie Jones; 11 grandchildren, Marcus, Dominick, DeAndre, Elijah, Sierra, Isiah, Mya, Alanna, Olyvya, Brooklyn, Michael and Nathan; four great grandchildren, Skylar, Luna, Emmalynne and Tyrease; stepdaughters, Lois and Peggy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Orland L. and Ruby (Howard) Jones; his loving wife and mother of his children, Leona Emma Jones; son, Scott Jones; his second wife, Frances Jones; siblings, Kathleen Bunch, Eugene Jones, Elizabeth Jones and William.

Visitation is Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon in Greater Grace Temple.  Burial will follow in Deer Creek Township Cemetery in London, Ohio.
