Norma C. (Coulter) Beard

Norma Cleo Beard, 90, was born on February 22, 1932 to the late Tearobelle Coulter in Louisville, Kentucky.  She  married the late Daniel Beard on February 14, 1948 in Newport, Kentucky.  To this union were born six children, Robert, Daniel, George, Keith, Patricia and Charles.  She was the best Mom ever.  She would give her all to her children.  Sister Beard gave her life to God over 60 years ago.  She attended the Grand Avenue Church of God and loved the Lord more than life.

Sister Beard truly enjoyed and valued her friendship with Joyce Harris and Elanore (Johnson) Murray for many years. Later in life she forged a relationship with Sister Stella Cavin.  They talked every evening up until Sister Beard could no longer speak.  As an adored mother of the church, Sister Beard also loved little children.  We’re sure she has kissed every baby associated with Grand Avenue and beyond.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Tearobelle; her husband, Daniel Beard of 71 years; her son, Keith Beard; two brothers, Gene and Robert Coulter; sister Obaniel Coulter; six grandchildren, Dashawna, Jasmine, Kahlee, Jahream, Keisha Beard and Candance “Pookie” Prunty.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Robert  of Atlanta, Georgia, Daniel (Karen) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, George (Joan) of Middletown, Ohio, Patricia of Springfield, Ohio and Charles (Stacie) of Newport News, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Debbie, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Visitation is Friday, January 27, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at Grand Avenue Church of God.  Burial will follow in Ferncfiff Cemetery.
