Michele Callahan Obituary

On September 20, 1977, Jerome and Doris Quarterman welcomed their daughter Michele Renee into their lives. Upon her birth the family lived and worked in Jefferson City, Missouri, but later moved to Tallahassee, Florida; Hampton, Virginia, and finally relocated to Xenia, Ohio where Michele attended the Xenia City Schools from 2nd grade until graduation from Xenia High School.

During those years Michele and her mother became faithful members of Zion Baptist Church where Michele was a very active participant in the youth church activities.

After high school graduation Michele attended Bowling Green State University and Medical College of Ohio. While at Bowling Green State University she began dating Chad Callahan and received her degree in Physical Therapy.

Upon graduating from college Michele went right to work for Premier Health at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio as a Physical Therapist.

On August 9, 2003, Michele and Chad were married at Zion Baptist Church and to that union were born two lovely daughters, Alyssa and Zoe.

With a desire to improve her knowledge in her profession, Michele chose to further her studies at the University of Indianapolis earning a Master of Health Science in Physical Therapy (2005) and later a Doctoral Degree of Physical Therapy (2011).

Michele later became a Rehabilitation Supervisor for Fidelity Health Care specializing in Orthopedic care. She was passionate about helping others and doing whatever she could to assist the therapist that she supervised.

Throughout her adult life Michele remained a dedicated and faithful member of Zion Baptist Church. She read the opening announcements, taught Sunday school, church school, and Vacation Bible School, all while mentoring many young adults.

Nothing inspired Michele more than her family. She was passionate about nurturing her daughters’ educational aspirations and supporting their love of dance. She was a full-time dance mom and adored being fully engaged in all activities.

Michele is survived by her loving mother, Doris; devoted husband, Chad; beautiful daughters, Alyssa and Zoe, and brother, Teri Quarterman.
