Martha L. Jones

Martha Louise Jones, 86, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023.  She was born June 6, 1937 in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of Lee and Lenora (Foster) Jones. 

Martha was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church where was a member of the Mass, Senior and Combined Choirs, Host and Hostess Ministry, U.S. Munnerlyn Circle, Pantry Ministry and VFBS Volunteer.  Martha enjoyed bowling,  shopping and traveling with Travels with Bette Brown.  She was a member of The National Council of Negro Women, The Retirement Set, Women of the Class of 1962 and Friends and  Clark County Women’s Bowling Association.  Martha retired from the Clark County Public Library after 30 years of service.

Her memory will live forever in the hearts of her family and friends, daughter, Marsha Jones-Brooks of Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio; grandchildren, Jafar C. Jones Sr. and Tierra R. Christopher; great grandchildren, Sante-Nasair Jones, Jayla C. Jones and Jafar C. Jones Jr.; sisters, Peggy Jones; brother, Robert H. Jones Sr. both of Springfield, Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including special friends, Bobbi Cunningham, Hattie Arnold, Grace Tinsley, Sandra Castleberry, Cassandra Castleberry, Delores Daniels, Oakie Moore, Michael Gaines, Homer and Eleanor Roberts and Barbara Sims.  She was preceded ion death by her parents, grandchild, Nasir Jafar Jones; sisters, L. Kathryn Jones and Constance M. Toliver; brothers, William M. Foster Sr., Roger Jones, Charles E. Jones, James P. Jones, Julius Jones and Phillip E. Jones.

Visitation is Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon in St. John Missionary Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
