John Watters Obituary

                            

John “Willie” Watters, 74, of Urbana, Ohio passed away Monday, January 17, 2022. He was born October 2, 1947 in Rome, Georgia, the son of Dessaree (Harper) and Elihue Watters.

Johnny married Lola Layne on February 18, 1984.  He graduated from Springfield South High School in 1966. Johnny served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He had many hobbies including playing guitar and giving friends guitar lessons.  Johnny enjoyed watching birds and sitting outback and working in his garden.  He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, making pies and barbecuing.  He loved to sit up and watch Western movies.  He enjoyed painting cars out in the garage while wood working.  He loved to do leather working and in the summer, he loved to go fishing.  Johnny was a Mason for a majority of his life, he achieved his 33°.  He was a parishioner of the Jerusalem Second Baptist Church.  Johnny was a man of many things.  Johnny retired from International Harvester (Navistar) Johnny was certified in electric, carpentry, heating, plumbing and air conditioning.  He also worked at Adriel school as a maintenance supervisor and helped many homeowners in Urbana and Springfield.

Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Watters of 38 years; mother, Dessaree Harper; father, Elihue Watters; mother-in-law, Juanita Judy Cook; daughter, Tiffany Arnold (Watters); cousins, Thomas Harper, Linsey Kade, Cecil and Martha.

Johnny is survived by Teia Hackley (Watters), Erika Watters,    Dessaree Watters, Camika Edwards (Watters); sons, James (Ashley) Breneman and Virgil (Jessica) Breneman; cousin, Roseann Applin; grandchildren, Anthony, Ally and Cory,   Tavarus, JD Junior, JayDen, Jayla, Breeze, Unique, Ariehanna, Jackie, David, Tanasha, Kaylee, Caleb, Travis, Delawrence II, Donivin, Tiarra, Sanai, Jeremy, Jerome, Corbin, Joudrin, Issac and Andrew and many great grandchildren; special friends, Kathy and Timmy Mays, Richard Bowsher, Eugene Fields and the Vactor family & many other relatives and friends.

Visitation is Saturday January 29, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon in Jerusalem Baptist Church in Urbana, Ohio. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery with military honors.
