JIMMIE LEE COLQUITT was born February 7, 1947 to the late Harris and Fannie Colquitt in Meansville, Georgia. As a young child Jimmie and his family relocated to Springfield Ohio where he graduated high school. After high school Jimmie enlisted in the US Army where he served three years for his country. While in the military his MOS job was a truck driver. After his service in the military Jimmie worked as an assembly line worker with General Motors Truck & Bus plant in Dayton, Ohio. He worked until his retirement for 30 years.
Jimmie was a life long Cleveland Browns Fan, he loved basketball and played AAU basketball for the Johnson All-Stars. Jimmie also served as an assistant coach for the Springfield North Panthers where he inspired young high school athletes and transcended his love for the game of basketball. Although Jimmie stayed busy, he was a dedicated family man, He always believed that family should be close and loving.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents Harris and Fannie Colquitt; Siblings, Ronald Colquitt, Melvin Colquitt, Charles Colquitt, Marjorie Winkhouse, Deborah Colquitt and Harriet Trent.
Jimmie Lee Colquitt leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted Wife, Cynthia Colquitt; Two children, Son, Jimmie ( Eureka) Colquitt, Daughter, Kendra (Richard Jr.) Odum; Sister, Juanita Colquitt; Brother, Henry Colquitt; Grandchildren, Richard Odum III, Briana Odum, Brianna Hightower, Symone Bishop, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
