Irene (Jones) Howell

Irene (Jones) Howell, 71, of Springfield Ohio, an Angel, was called home by the Lord on Sunday July 5 2020 in The Ohio State University Medical Center.  She was born August 26, 1948 in Springfield, Ohio.  She was a dedicated employee of A.B.C.D. Inc. and SARTA of Canton Ohio where she retired. she was a graduate of Springfield South High School and Clark State College where she earned an associate’s degree.  She also attended Brown Mackie College where she furthered her education.

Irene was a proud member of James S. Thomas U.M.C. where she served as a choir member, trustee and member of the usher board for many years in Canton Ohio.  She had many hobbies including gardening, crafting and cooking.  Her generous and kindhearted spirit touched the lives of many.

Mrs. Howell is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Billy Howell.  She was a dedicated mother to sons, Mark D.T. Jones and Jerry Griffin; daughters, Dana D. Jones and Marlene Griffin Brandon; brothers, Winston Stembridge, David C. Jones (Delice) and Rev. Steven Jones; sisters, Annie Lou Kindle and sisters-in-law,     Miriam Jones and Pam Jones and special friend, Annie Mitchell.  She was a loving grandmother of 9 grand-children and 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, David C and Mamie Jones; brothers, Thomas Jones, Daniel Jones and Hubert Jones and son, Darryl Howell.

Visitation is Friday, July 10, 2020 from 11 a.m. until the time of the graveside service at 12:30 p.m. in Ferncliff Cemetery..
