Harold Reed Henry, 91, of Louisville, Kentucky and formerly of Springfield, Ohio passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at his residence.
Mr. Henry was born in Springfield, Ohio, on August 11, 1932, to the late Guy and Nellie (Reed) Henry. He earned two associate degrees from The Kentucky School of Mortuary Science and Kettering College in Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Henry worked as a Respiratory Therapist at the VA Hospital for many years. He was a dedicated member of the New Life Seventh-Day Adventist church in Louisville, Kentucky where he served as an Elder, Deacon, and Sabbath School Superintendent. He also served as the President of Youth Federation Allegheny West Conference. Mr. Henry enjoyed photography, collecting coins, traveling, bowling and skating. He was a history buff, loved to sing, and enjoyed spending time with his family who he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Harold West; three sisters, Doris Curry, Martha Clay, and Frances Warren; six brothers, Kenneth Henry, Rodger B. Henry, G. Stanlee Henry, Carl Henry, Paul E. Henry, Morris Henry, and Robert C. Henry.
Mr. Henry was survived by his wife Mrs. Laura Henry of Louisville, KY; two daughters, Dorsey Davidson of Atlanta, Georgia; Mueril Rose Henry of Springfield, Ohio; a son, Darrick Henry of Louisville, Kentucky; one sister, Myrtle Maddox of Louisville, Kentucky, eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great- great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, friends, and loved ones.
Visitation is Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. in New Life Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3248 Taylor Blvd. Louisville, Kentucky 40215
