Gloria Jean (Perymon) Woods

Gloria Jean (Jeannie) Woods, age 76, passed away June 10, 2021 at Grandview Hospital after battling a long illness.  

She was born March 6, 1945 in Springfield, Ohio to John P. and Alice L. Perymon.  She graduated from Springfield High School class of 1963 and married the love of her life, William H. (Butch) Woods December 29, 1963.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 33 years, her parents, granddaughter, Jessica Rochelle Ilesanmi; sister Monica M. Holmes and sister, Patricia Ann Perymon.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Crystal Woods of Dayton, Carmen (Eric) Boone of Dayton, and William H. (Buddy) Woods IV of Springfield; grandchildren, Josh Woods, Tyler Woods Sr., Morgan Woods, Erica Boone, Malik Woods and Alex Barton; great grandchildren, Tyler Jr., Tyree, Tyron and Tyarrea Woods, Xavion Walker and.Tadrick Banks Jr.; siblings, John (Katherine) Perymon Jr of Berkley, CA, Anthony (Linda) Perymon of Philadelphia, PA, Aundrea (Keith) Edwards of Dayton and Eric (Rene’) Perymon of Springfield along with a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and “adopted children”. 

Jeannie, as she was known by all who loved her, Loved the Lord and was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.   She worked at the Clark County Children’s Home for 25 years where she was a surrogate mother to dozens of children whose lives she touched and helped nurture and who still call her “Mom” to this day.  She will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation is Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 12 noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. in Greater Grace Temple.  Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
