Geneva (Hampton) Bacon, 81, of Springfield, Ohio passesd away August 23, 2019. She was born December 2, 1937 in Culloden, Georgia the daughter of William and Mary Elizabeth (Ralls) Hampton. Geneva graduated from Capitol University and retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base after many years of dedicated service as a contract negotiator. She also worked for the Springfield City Schools as a substitute teacher. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed her membership in the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Alpha Nu Sorority, The Links, Inc., Jack and Jill, Inc. and the Retirement Set. She also was a member of several card clubs, bowling leagues and was a Hospice volunteer. Geneva leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, her mother, Mary Elizabeth Hampton-Sneed of Dayton, Ohio; daughter, Nalissa "Lissa" (Nick) Weatherspoon of Dayton, Ohio; son, Charles (Lisa) Bacon of Lewis Center, Ohio; grandchildren, Ciara Christian, Charlea Christian, Chelsea Bacon, Kyaia Bacon and Chandler Bacon; sister, Ernestine Thornton of Dayton, Ohio; the Dixon children and grandchildren; special friends, Hattie Arnold, Bobbi Cunningham, Jessie Howard and Dean (her dedicated handymen) and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, William Hampton; step-father, Benny Sneed; husbands, Charles Bacon and Robert Dixon; sister, Catherine Williams; brothers, Charles Sneed and Kenneth Sneed and special friend, Norma Johnson.
