Fannie Turner Obituary

A chapter complete, a page turned, a life well lived, a rest well earned.
Fannie B. (Perkins) Turner, entered her rest on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Southbrook Care Center in Springfield, Ohio at the age of 98.
Fannie was born the oldest of two children to Wash and Mattie B. (Thompson) Perkins Banks on 17 December, 1920 in Franklin, Tennessee and was educated in the Oshtcraft Public schools.  She moved to Springfield, Ohio in 1940 and married Dick Turner. This union produced a daughter who died at a young age.
She worked in the private industry until retiring but one job she adored was raising 2 of her great nephews along with her mother. Though she experienced a rough life you could not ignore her sneaky grin or infectious laugh but if you took the time to listen she was full of wisdom and she turned lifes sour lemons into the sweetest lemonade. She taught you to laugh at your mistakes and always led by example. She will truly be missed.
Fannie leaves to cherish her memory her brother, James K. (Mary) Perkins of Nashville, Tn.; the two great nephews she helped raise, Robert Cobb III and Jaymali King of Springfield, Ohio along with many nieces, nephews and their families, many cousins and wonderful friends and her spiritual family; special family friend, Frank James Smith of Springfield, Ohio.
Fannie was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Turner; daughter, Mattie Lee; parents, Wash Perkins and Mattie Banks; step-father, Samuel Opal (Daddy Banks) Banks Sr.; brothers, Robert, Henry, Albert, John, Charles and step brother, Samuel; sisters, Frances and Mary Elizabeth; special long time friend, Charles Russell.
In May 7, the 2011 Fannie B. Turner, dedicated her life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
