Eugene Harrison

Deacon Eugene Harrison, 81, of Springfield, Ohio departed this life on Palm Sunday, April 10, 2022 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.  He was born May 8, 1940 in Georgetown, Georgia, the eldest son of Solie and Ruby (Andrews) Harrison.  

He was a graduate of Springfield High School in 1957.  Eugene was an avid bowler, fisher and bicyclist. He was a faithful servant of the community by visiting the sick and shut-in.  He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church since childhood.  He was a member of the Male Chorus, Voices of Thunder, Mass Choir, Deacon Board and the Prayer Warriors

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Solie & Carolyn (Joan) and Curtis Harrison; daughter, Nicolle L. Harrison; sister and brother-on-law, Carolyn and Victor Robinson as well as a multitude of beloved family members.

Deacon Harrison leaves behind to honor his legacy his wife of 61 years, Marlyene (Murph) Harrison; 4 children, daughter, Akhmiri (Holly); son, Christopher Eugene (Camille) and Stacy Sherron of Springfield, Ohio; sister-in-law, Charlesine Murph; grandchildren, Zamaya of Minneapolis, MN, Nashwa of Columbus, Ohio, Anthony, Adaya Amir of Springfield, Ohio and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation is Tuesday, April 19 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon in Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
