Donald Ramey

Donald "Duck" Ramey, Sr., 72, departed this life on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He was born a twin on
February 10, 1951 in Springfield, OH, the 8th son of Joseph and Alice Ramey.
Donald was a graduate of South High class of 1969. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He was employed by International Harvester for many years and retired from Duray Machine Shop, Lorain, OH. Donald was baptized at Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family.
Donald leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Diane (Chilton) Ramey of over 50 years; daughter, Dywana (Sherman) Jones of Lorain, OH; sons, Donald (Audrey) Ramey, Jr., Diori Ramey of Springfield, OH, and Derrick Ramey of Lorain, OH; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gurley (Denise) Ramey, Keith (Cheryl) Ramey, Nashville, TN, Charles (Paige) Ramey, Houston, TX and Charles (Gabe) Chilton; five sisters, Viola (George) Wellington of Springfield, OH, Pauline Cordell, Nashville, TN, Karen Clay, Columbus, OH, Valerie Ramey, Springfield, OH, and Barbara (David) Gaines; special friend, Kenny Ralston of Lorain, OH; special nephew, John Walker, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, his twin brother, Ronald Ramey; sisters, Carol Ramey, Josephine Wade and Kathy Young; brothers, McAlster "Jack", Y.Z. and Joseph "Ed" Ramey and great-grandbaby, Ramey.

Visitation is Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon in Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery with military honors.
