Willie F. Gaines, 82, of Springfield Ohio departed this life on Wednesday January 3, 2017 at Mercy Siena Woods. He was born May 8, 1934 in Minter, Alabama, the son of Bertha (Hayes) and David Gaines. Willie was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Willie graduated from Springfield High School and retired from Teledyne. Willie leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 19 years, Elizabeth (Turner) Gaines; brother, Adrien Gaines of Springfield, Ohio; sons, Gary (Christine) Gaines of Springfield, Ohio, Larry (Alma) Gaines of Valparaiso, Florida and Vernon Gaines of Dayton, Ohio; daughters Deborah (Leon) Bibbs and Tracy Gaines of Dayton, Ohio; step daughters, Yvonne Turner of Dayton, Ohio and Monica Lawrence of Indianapolis, Indiana; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Willie is preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, David Jr., Robert, James, Harold, Lorenzo "Punch" Gaines and granddaughter Tashawna.
