William C. Wilson, 78, of Springfield, Ohio passed away May 26, 2016 in his residence. He is the son of Mamie (Russell) and General T. Wilson. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 15 years, Elaine (Gassaway) Wilson; children, Trent C. (Tanya) Wilson of Springfield, Ohio, Jocelyn Y. Wilson of Columbus, Ohio, Ricardo K. Powers of springfield, Ohio, Cynthia M. (Jerome K.) Jolivette of Los Angeles, California, Alicia R. (Wayne) Skinner of Columbus, Ohio, Brian and Anna Gassaway of Glenwood, Illinois, Wesley and Sherry Gassaway of Kentland Illinois and his loving sister, Amanda Renshaw. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and his brother, Erwin Wilson. William graduated from Springfield South High School and received his B.S. degree from Central State University in Accounting and Music. Bill was affiliated with many Music Associations. He was most proud of playing with local talents, Johnny Lytle and Jimmy Foster. He leaves a legacy of music to his family , the City of Springfield, Second Baptist Church where he was a member and with many other churches throughout the area. Music was his life, jazz was his soul. Visitation will be Saturday, June 4, 2016 in the Second Baptist Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. Burial in the Ferncliff Cemetery.
