Obituary

William E. " Billy" Evans Sr., was born December 3, 1934 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Elbert A. and Madeline "Mattie" Lee (McMichael) Evans. William made his transition from this life on Monday, March 31, 2025.

Mr. Evans attended Springfield High School where he met his wife.   He served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. After returning from the military he briefly worked in construction then he moved to International Harvester, where he worked for 31 years.  Mr. Evans was a man of God and gave his life to God 1989.  While serving the Lord, he became a deacon until his passing.  Mr. and Mrs. Evans were married 67 years until she sadly left her earthly body last year on March 7th.  Both he and Annette outlived all of their siblings and now are reunited together again.

In his younger years, he loved playing basketball, working on his car, taking care of his lawn and playing Bid Whist with his family.  In his mature years, he enjoyed watching sports, politics, reading his bible and listening to music.  He was a pillar to his community and a father figure to so many.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annette Evans; one daughter, Lucinda Evans; one grandchild, Christopher Evans; his parents, Elbert Arthur Evans Sr. and Madeline "Mattie" McMichael Evans-Palmer; four brothers, Vernon "Tiny" Evans, Elbert "Trimble" Evans Jr., Paul Evans Sr. and  Alonzo "Zote" Evans; two sisters, Georgianna M. Evans-Whittington and Marcelene "Marty" Evans-Massey.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, William (Kathy) Evans Jr.; three daughters, Dianna (Mark) Malone, LaRonda Evans Mahdi and Shelley Evans; six grandchildren, Brian Evans, Dawn (Anna) Wiley, Dionne Evans, Brandon Evans Deishon Malone and Christina Evans; one great grandchild, Dontay Henderson and a host of nieces and nephews.
