Virgil M. McWhorter, 73, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Monday, March 30, 2026.  He was born August 19, 1952 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Virgil and Susan (Jones) McWhorter Sr. 

Virgil graduated from Springfield South High School where he excelled in football and track. He was in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged.  Virgil was employed by The Champion Company.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Wanda McWhorter; brother, Charlie McWhorter and son, Monte McWhorter.  He is survived by his son, Henry “Marty” McWhorter, lifelong friends, Jeffrey Tolliver and Arlin “Par” Tolliver and friend, Wanda.

Visitation is Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home. Virgil will be laid to rest in Dayton National Cemetery with military honors.
