Obituary

Treva Y. (Peterson) Northington, 60, went home to be with the Lord on July 26, 2018 at 2:50 am. She was born April 3, 1958 in Springfield Ohio, a daughter of Walter and Lillie (Wells) Peterson. Treva loved the Lord and was a member of Greater Grace Temple, Springfield Ohio. She was the proprietor of Honeyman Gourmet Products Inc., Columbus Ohio. She named her business after her father's boxing name "Honeyman". Honeyman Gourmet Products specialized in mild, hot barbecue sauces and seasoned rubs. Treva's products sold at local major grocery store chains, gourmet food stores, and local farmers markets. Treva had a burning desire to be successful. Her famous quote was "Let's make it happen." Treva also expressed herself through poetry. She was a published poet and received an award for her poem Summer Nights. For over 30 years, Treva worked in the medical field as a Histology Technician. She helped open and managed a state of the art histology laboratory in Columbus, Ohio. The facility utilized advanced imaging techniques to prepare and identify abnormal tissue and cells for pathologists. She is survived by her mother, son Michael (Joy) Peterson; two brothers, Leonard (Tracy) Peterson, Springfield, OH, Walter "Steven" Peterson, Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Teresa (Billie) Tweedie, Dayton, OH, Lisa Peterson, Springfield, OH; two grandchildren, Amina Wells and Shania Wooster; one aunt, Lillie Mae Jarrett, Springfield, OH; one Uncle, William ZL (Evelyn) Peterson, Seattle, WA., nieces, Amber Tweedie, Chicago, IL, Ronisha Leslie, Columbus, OH; nephews, Antoine (Stacy) Tweedie, Dayton, OH, Marques Bronston, Springfield, OH, Lance Leslie Jr, Columbus, OH, Andy Leslie, Cincinnati, OH; special friends Lenora Moss, Valerie Lee, Robin Casey, Veola Moore and Kimberly Sanford and a number of family and other friends. She was preceded in death by her father Walter Lee Peterson, two brothers, Kevin Peterson and Lance Leslie, maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.
