Stephen Maurice Rolls Sr., 62, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025 in Good Shephard  Village.  He was born August 11, 1962 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Florence Ralls and Chester M. Kendall Jr.

Stephen was a D.J. for over 40 years with his brother, Carl.  They were known as Captain Cool and Master C.  He and Carl started Stepforward Productions that provided band equipment  rentals. He loved being in the studio with Carl putting a band together. He enjoyed skating and bowling and was active at St. John Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. Stephen was a faithful Springfield South High School Wildcat and a loyal Ohio State fan.  He was in the class of 1981.   He was involved in community work for over 30 years which included being a Culture Fest board member, involved in the Memorial Day Parade, Juneteenth, and the Yellow Springs Street Fair.

He is survived by his children, Peggy (Charles) Moore, Regina Sparks, Ant'waun Rolls, Stephen Rolls Jr. and bonus son, Jeffrey Brown Jr.; siblings, Shela Blanchard, Cathi Banks, Lisa Banks, Carl Clark and Charles (Viola Wendy) Turner Sr.; grandchildren, Nieasha May, Iverson May, Keyra Sparks, De'Shawn Sparks, Dontrae Sparks and Jamir Rolls; godchildren, Eric Clark, Keisha Clark, Aaron Clark, Chrissy Clark and Amy Sparks; foster mothers, Fannie L. Banks and Mrs. Hagans; foster sisters, Donna Johnson-Hutchinson, Ella Banks, Lisa Banks-Williams, Cathi Banks-Holt and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation is Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon in St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Mulberry Street entrance.
