Shirley Ann (Jackson) Johnson was born March 11, 1936, to Jasper G. and Callie M. (Andrews) Jackson in Dayton, Ohio. She was the oldest of nine children. When Shirley was in the 9th grade, the family moved to Springfield, OH and settled in the "Western Hills" community. Shirley met the love of her life at the Center St. YMCA during school lunch periods. They eloped and were married in April, 1955. They were married 39 years until Leroy passed away in 1994. Shirley worked as a dietitian at Community Hospital for more than 30 years. She loved taking care of children. After retiring from the hospital, she became an in home daycare provider for Child and Family Services. Over the years, she raised multiple generations of children throughout the community. Shirley loved Bingo! You could find her playing bingo every Friday and Sunday evening. On Saturday's, her weekly outing was going to Meijer and eating at one of her favorite restaurants, Bob Evans or Collier's Family Restaurant. Shirley departed this life in her residence on January 18, 2017. She is survived by her son Karl L. Johnson of Chula Vista, CA, daughter Tracey L. Johnson, granddaughter Brittany N. (Myron) Wells, and grandson Cameron L. Calloway; sisters Donna (Donald) Martin, Delores Daniel, Joyce Johnson, all of Springfield, OH, Norma (Clifton) Abbott of Colorado Springs, CO, Frances (James) Belle of Moreno Valley, CA, and brother LaFrance (Euretha) Jackson of Springfield, OH; special loved ones, Howard Johnson, Sandra Roland, Talitha Thomas, and Regina (Jerry) Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other family members and friends. She was proceeded in death by her husband, parents and siblings Jasper Jackson Jr. and Ella Henry.
