Scott "Shamalam" Overbeay

Scott "Shamalam" Overbeay, 52, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Friday, December 26, 2025.

Scott was a supberb artist. He loved music and made rap tracks. A food connoisseur, Scott loved to go out and eat with his friends.

A loveable human being, Scott was always the life and laughter no matter where he was and everyone looked up to him. He taught many of his friends to embrace their weird, never judged a soul, and gave people hope that their lives could be better. He made many people feel like they belonged and was looked up to as a mentor.

Scott graduated from Whetstone High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cecilia (Briggs) Overbeay. He was survived in life by his sister, Christina Barber, nephew, Dylan Maxwell, and many, many close friends.

A  Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Villa Nova Restaurant, 5545 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43085.
