Sandra Gayle Hardy, 78, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 in Charlotte, NC. Sandra was the youngest of the set of triplets, born to Sylvester L. and Bessie L. (Jobe) Hardy in Springfield, Ohio. The family, which included an older daughter, Joan, was featured in articles about multiple births in the Saturday Evening Post and local newspapers. Sandra was always sweet, loving, caring, kind, encouraging and empathetic. Her infectious laugh and sense of humor could brighten anyone's day. She always looked for the good in everyone, and from an early age, Sandra developed a special love for animals; taking care to befriend and nurture them all. Sandra attended the local schools in Springfield, and graduated from Springfield High School. Sandra and Shirley both graduated from Erma Lee Beauty School in Cleveland, Ohio. Always striving to do her best, she also continued her education, and rose from the Food Services Department to finally serving as Head Teacher in the Head Start Program, where she spent over thirty years in both Springfield and Cincinnati, enriching and helping to improve and promote the developmental, cognitive and social skills of young children. Sandra was a member of Wiley Methodist Church, Springfield, Ohio during her early years, and later, she became a member of Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Temple in Cincinnati. After returning back to Springfield, Sandra attended Greater Grace Temple. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester L. and Bessie L. (Jobe) Hardy; nephew, Brian Miller and great nephew, Tovaughn Orr. Those left to celebrate Sandra's life and cherish her memory are her devoted daughters, Sherry Hardy and Stacie (Curt) Allen; granddaughter, Brittany Hardy; great grandchildren, Jayvon, Jayla and Jayden, all of Charlotte, NC.; grandson, Zhae Hardy; sisters, Joan H. Watkins of Bloomfield, CT; Shirley Hardy Smith and Sylvia Miller, both of Springfield, Ohio and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends. She also leaves special cousins Chesterfield Hardy of Columbus, OH, Sylvester and Edward Hardy of Toledo, OH and special friends District Elder LaVelton and Evangelist Patricia Daniel, Kimberly and James Norman, Erin Clark and her beloved dog, Max.
