Ronnie Moss, affectionately known as "Jabo," "Jib Jab," and "Unkie Dunk," passed away on November 29th, 2024, at the age of 63, in his Springfield, Ohio, residence. Born on January 20, 1961, to Elwood and Roberta (Seward) Moss, Ronnie grew up in Springfield and graduated from Springfield South High School.
Ronnie was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed boxing, roller skating, riding bikes, and working out, and he dedicated time to serving his community through his work at the Food Pantry. Known for his humor and unique charm, Ronnie had a knack for bringing joy to those around him. He often greeted the ladies with "Hey, Doll Baby," followed by a playful jab about their "legs big as tree stumps." He was also known for his classic sayings like "Dig Jack," "Role Model," and "Soft Spot," always delivering them with his signature wit. A man who truly enjoyed laughter, Ronnie made every interaction memorable. Whether he was crafting slick rhymes or tossing out one of his unforgettable quotes, he had a way of making people smile. His sharp wit, vibrant personality, and iconic phrases—like "Mob, Bing, Bang"—left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Ronnie was also a man of deep faith, having given his life to Christ. He carried his love for God with him in everything he did, offering strength, love, and inspiration to his family and friends.
Ronnie is survived by his daughters, Chelsea (Tarik) Moss-Cameron and Ashley Cross; his sons, Ronald (Monique) Hill and Trae Martin; his cherished grandchildren, Ty'Ann Cameron and Tylee Cameron; Roniesha Hill, Rianna Hill, Ronald Hill, Rashad Hill; his sisters, Debbie Mapp, Kathy Smith, Bonnie Newlin (his twin), and Shelva Hall; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roberta Seward and Elwood Moss Sr, and his brothers, Robert Moss Sr. and Elwood Moss Jr.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon at St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Ronnie's legacy of laughter, faith, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
