Obituary

Obituary Obituary Ronald "Ron" Miller was born on April 10, 1947, in Springfield, OH to Houston and Allie Miller. He attended South High School. His prior employers included Klosterman and Navistar, and Ron retired from Navistar after thirty-eight years of service. Ron was also an entrepreneur, having owned his own painting business, Miller Painting, for several years. Maybe the largest job for his business was being hired to paint Opportunity Gardens on Plum Street when it was originally built. Ron and Alice Miller celebrated their Golden Anniversary in 2016 and would have been married 52 years in May of this year. Ron loved his wife, children and grandchildren and was known to have one or more of his grandkids sleeping on his chest (as he slept also) during Sunday morning services. Ron loved spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren. He also loved fishing, riding his motorcycle, working on cars and gardening. He was also formerly a member of the motorcycle club, the Untouchables. His motorcycle name was Tramp. He was also an avid Cleveland Cavaliers fan and would call his grandson Noah to remind him to watch the game whenever the Cavs were on TV. Ron was a kind man and was willing to lend a hand to help family, friends, the church and an occasional stranger. He mowed grass and plowed yards and was an all-around Mr. fix-it man. He could figure out how to fix or make anything work. It wasn't always the prettiest job but he always got the job done. In the church Ron willingly provided janitorial services and was a church trustee. Ron was preceded into death by his parents Houston "Max" and Allie "Bea" Miller and his grandson Tyson Miller. He leaves to celebrate his life, his wife Alice "Kay" Miller; two brothers Houston "Dub" Miller and Derwin "Chip" Miller; three sisters, Lavonne "Toy" Mitchell, Loew (Anthony) Mitchell and Merl (Harry) Johnson; five children, Chris (Tanya) Miller, Stacey Miller (Stephanie Rhoades), Ronald Jr. (Semonicka) Miller, Michelle (Jayson) Thompson, and Michael (Johnnie) Miller; eight grandchildren, Lashay (his Shay-bird), Noah, Houston (Huey), Josiah, Jayla, Faith, Micah and Jayson Jr.; brother (in-law) Nate Mitchell; special cousins Ray Thomas and Don Thomas; special friends Ronnie Applin and Butch Hardiman; stepmother Leta Miller; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
