Robert  L. Coleman Jr. was born in Natchez, Mississippi on June 25, 1950.  He was the third child to the late Robert Leroy Sr. and Georgia Bee Weathersby.  Robert attended Jerusalem Baptist Church in Natchez, Mississippi in his younger days and received his education at Brumfield High School in Natchez, Mississippi.  After high school Robert worked with his dad for a while. Through the years he worked as a logger until he retired.  He was the father of five children, three girls and two boys.  Later in life Robert moved to Springfield, Ohio where he met Rosetta Williams.  Years later they married on June 20, 2020. Robert loved having fun with family and friends.

On Sunday, June 22, 2025, Robert transitioned from earthly life.  He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Curtis Green, Peter E. Coleman and Perry L. Green and one sister, Mary Louise Coleman Blanton.  Robert leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rosetta Williams Coleman, five children, Maggie Bethley, Covington Bethley both of of Bude, Mississippi, Fredrick Covington, Shawn Coleman both of Brookhaven, Mississippi and Angela Coleman  Varden Vernelus (Dieuseul Vernelus) of Springfield, Ohio; four step children, Mac Anthony, Nathaniel Anthony, John W. Jr. Anthony and Lorenzo Williams all of Springfield, Ohio; three sisters, Barbara A. (Frank) Bacon, Hattie R. (Leroy) Smith and Charlestine (James) Bell all of Natchez, Mississippi; one brother, Milton (Alice) Green of Natchez, Mississippi, 19 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be Friday, July 18, 2025 at 12 noon in the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.
