Richard D. White, 73, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Monday, June 1, 2026. He was born November 7, 1952 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Darwin Wadsworth and Anna Herrod and raised by Jesse and Edna White.

Richard graduated from Springfield South High School. He was always referred to as "the best dressed"! He served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his son, Ira Perkins of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Judie Herrod of Springfield, Ohio and Cassie Herrod of Cleveland, Ohio, brother, James White of Springfield, Ohio; special friends, Pastor Craig Leslie, Latondra Leslie, Jimmy Elder, Donnie Motley, Jerry Thomas, Kurt Davis Sr. and the Davidson family. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Sandra Alexander, Jerry Smith, Anthony Herrod, Rochelle Herrod and Norman Henry.

Visitation is Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life service at 1 p.m. in The Robert C. Henry Funeral Home. Please join the family immediately after the service for a repast from 2-4 p.m. at Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church, 554 Selma Road Springfield, Ohio 45505.
