Phillip "Phil" Hamilton, 65, of Macon, Georgia, entered eternal peace on January 26, 2016 unexpectedly.Phil was born on February 20, 1950 in Springfield, Ohio. He graduated from Springfield South High School in 1968. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates where he played one season. He later enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served seven years being stationed in multiple locations throughout the world. After serving with the U.S. Air Force as an active serviceman, he worked as a Department of Defense Civilian at Kelly Air Force Base and Warner Robins Air Force Base. Phil had a passion for singing and serving the Lord at his local church, St Paul AME Church. He also sang with his brothers "Vision" and toured around singing the praises of God. Phil will be remembered for his kind, fun loving and generous ways. Being a friend to many, and he was well known for his ability to listen, reason and assist in any way needed. Not only was he a father, substitute father, fiancé, friend, mentor, trainer, manager, singer, repairman, one-man trucker/mover, loan manager, loving and kind brother, but also known as "Uncle Phil" by all his co-workers (from General to the average man). One organization near and dear to his heart was the youth mentoring organization, Successful Teens Achieving Right Solutions (STARS).Phil is survived by his mother, Jeanne Morgan, Springfield, Ohio; two daughters, Bridgett Hamilton, Houston, Texas and Stefanie (James, Sr) Conway, Woodbridge, Virginia; a brother Greg (Sandra) Hamilton, Springfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Jalysa Conway of Los Angeles, California; Krystall Roach of Honolulu, Hawaii; Shawnn Conway of Woodbridge, Virginia; James Conway Jr. of Woodbridge, Virginia; Asia Conway stationed in Japan; Malik James of Houston, Texas, and Devin Hamilton of Houston, Texas; great-grandchild, Jeremiah Harris, Woodbridge, Virginia; Beloved extended family; fiancé, Marcy Langford, Richard Moss III, Maria Moss, Ryan Moss and Christian McMillan all of Springfield, Ohio, Juanita Duke, Loveland, Texas; aunt, nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends. Phil is preceded in death by his father, Douglas Morgan and two brothers, Stephan and Anthony Hamilton.Services will be Saturday February 6, 2016 at 11:00 am at Greater Grace Temple 380 W. Leffel Lane Springfield, Ohio 45506. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home, 527 Robert C. Henry Way, Springfield, Ohio 45506.
