JONES, Sr., Reverend Charles L. 68 of Huber Heights, OH went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2015. Charles was born on November 08, 1946 in Greenville, KY to the late Charles and Gwendolyn E. (Martin) Jones. Charles met and later married the "Love of His Life," Lora J. Nixon on December 31, 1967 in Quincy, IL. This union was blessed with three sons. He joined the Marine Corp and served his Country honorably. His bravery during the Vietnam War earned him 2 purple hearts. In 1968, the Jones family relocated to Springfield, OH. He was a graduate of Wilberforce University and Payne's Theological Seminary. Charles was employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Management. Charles was ordained as a minister in 1973. He loved and served the Lord mightily. He actively served on the Pastoral Staff at St. John Missionary Baptist Church until his passing. He leaves to cherish his memory the "Love of His Life," Lora and their children, Charles L. (Simone) Jones, Jr. of Dayton, OH, Captain (Select) Dominic J. (Sachiko) Jones, U.S. Navy, of San Diego, CA, Shawn S. (Jennifer) Jones of Chicago, IL; Special Children, William C. (Lori) McCullough of Fort Washington, MD and Angela K. (Shawn) Murphy of Dayton, OH; Grandchildren, Bailey A. Jones, Eliana A. Jones, and three grandsons on the way; Brothers, Reverend Jewell (Cynthia) Jones of Warrenville, OH, Leon (Trummell) Jones of Ocean View, Delaware; Sisters, Cynthia Hagans-Tunstall (Jeffrey) of Dayton, Ohio, Susan Hagans Chavous (Elgin) of Springfield, OH ; Brother-in-law, Lincoln (Carol) Nixon of Lansing Michigan, Sister-in-law Dr. Lois (Reverend Donald) Sprague of Kansas City, KS and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. Services will be Tuesday May 19, 2015 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 34 West Pleasant St., Springfield, OH (Mulberry St. entrance.) Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Ernest C. Brown, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, OH. Arrangements entrusted to the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.
