Obituary

Norman B. "Nobby" Carter, 71, of Springfield, Ohio passed away September 26, 2023.  He was born October 23, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio the son of Charles and Bette (Leath) Carter.  After graduation from high school, Nobby attended Kent State University and worked in retail and real estate in Atlanta, Georgia before returning to Springfield, Ohio.  He had been employed at Bob Evans.

He was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church where had was a member of Kingdom Men and Christian Men's Fellowship.  He enjoyed attending art shows and concerts and loved Yorkie dogs.  He also loved to watch sports, especially The Ohio State University games.  Norman was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

He is survived by his daughter, Marlowe Earley; granddaughter, Sydney Earley both of Gahanna, Ohio; aunt, Phyllis Berry of Springfield, Ohio and additional relatives and friends including special friends, Doyle Bethel, Marco Sommerville, William "Billy" Mitchell and Rick Austin.  Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bette Carter; his sister, Bette Brown and aunt, Norma Sawyer.

A Celebration of Life service is Friday, October 6, 2023 at 12 noon in St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Mulberry Street entrance.
