Nicholas "Nick" Leonard Carpenter, 21, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away far too soon on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

Born on July 22, 2003, in Springfield, Nick was a bright light whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and love to everyone he encountered. He was known for his quick wit, brilliant mind, gentle spirit, and the fierce love he had for his family and friends.

Nick was a beloved son to LeJon and Jessica Ratchford and a cherished brother to Gage Carpenter, Olyvia Carpenter, LeJon Ratchford II, and Olivia Ratchford. His family was his heart, and he loved deeply and freely.

He is also survived by his grandparents Anthony Gastineau, Charlotte Brooks, and Patricia Ratchford, who helped shape the compassionate young man he became. Nick was the treasured nephew of Rocky Brooks, Ashley Anderkin, LaTricia Dexter (Jamaal), Shawn Brooks, and Brian Dearmon. He also leaves behind his beloved cousin, Taylor Brooks, along with many extended family members and close friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Nick's life, though brief, was filled with purpose, love and the impact he made was immeasurable. He showed kindness freely, and brought light wherever he went. He had dreams as big as his heart and a spirit that touched everyone he met and he made people feel seen, supported, and loved. He will be missed more than words can express, but his memory will continue to shine in the lives of those who loved him.

A celebration of Nick's life will be held so family and friends can come together to honor the incredible young man he was.
