Nathaniel (Pee-Wee, Nate Dogg) Anthony Sr. 59, of Springfield, Ohio went home to rest with our Lord at his residence with his fiancé and son at his bedside on September 8, 2025.

Nate was born on November 20, 1965, in Tishabee, Alabama to the parentage of the Late John W. Anthony Sr. and Rosetta Coleman (Williams). He spent childhood years in Springfield before returning to Alabama where he attended Paramount High School and participated in softball and football. His down south roots never left him as he journeyed back to Springfield, Ohio in 1985.

Nathaniel was a hardworking, family man that devoted his time making sure everybody around him was OK. He was well known for his dancing and cooking, Nate's Country BBQ, he loved cooking for people and making everybody around him smile and laugh. He was dedicated to his job and family as well as his fraternal organization, Knights of Pythias.

Nate leaves to cherish his name and memory, his mother, Rosetta; his sons, Larry (Alyssa) Brown, of Florida and Nathaniel Anthony Jr. of Springfield; the mother of his children, Tammy Newby (Brown); grandchildren, James, Kai, Braylen, Alayah, and Malia; siblings, Teresa McShan, Mac (Shenise) Anthony, John W. (Crystal) Anthony Jr. and Lorenzo Williams; fiancée, Ann Chestnut; best friend, Lance Thompson and a host of nieces and nephews and an army of cousins and friends.

Nate is preceded in death by his father, John; paternal grandmother, Beatrice Hayes; maternal grandparents, A.C. and Louise Williams and very special friend, Genevieve Burnam & Prince.

Visitation is Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 12-2 p.m. in the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.
