Nathaniel J. "Nat" Murphy, 86, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019. He was born June 9, 1932 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Ernest and Rosie (Thomas) Murphy.  He was a foreman at Navistar International until he retired after many years of devoted service.  He served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.  Nat was a member of the Springfield High basketball and track championship teams in 1950.  Nat is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Bessie Jane (Martin) Murphy; daughter, Rhonda Day; grandsons, Mark (Destinee) Day Jr. and Kyle Nathaniel Day; great grandson, Enzo Day; sister, Nina Woods and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends,

Visitation is Tuesday April 16, 2019 from 12 noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery with military honors.
