Obituary
Myra Faye Pruitt was born on August 10, 1941, in Calhoun, Georgia, to the late Charles Porch and Vonell Porch.
Faye moved to Springfield, Ohio with her mother, Vonell Porch,and grandmother, Ethel Graves, at a young age. In 1959, she graduated from Springfield South High School and later attended college.
In 1964, Faye gave birth to her only son, Philip Porche, Sr. In 1973, she married her late husband, Lam Pruitt, and was married for 42 years. In this same year, she gave birth to their daughter Cathy Pruitt-Campbell. Faye raised her children in the church with the help of her mother (Vonell Porch) and grandmother (Mother Ethel Graves) and instilled God's word into their lives.
Faye worked as an Intake and WIC Certification Specialist at the Neighborhood Church Clinic which was associated with the W.I.C. (Women, Infant and Children) office for many years.
Faye was a faithful member of the Powerhouse Church of God M.P.G. of T. (formerly Church of God M.P.G. of T). In 1973, she received the Holy Ghost and was faithful in every auxiliary, including serving as the secretary, choir member, usher, missionary, and on the mother's board for many years. While serving in the kitchen, she introduced her famous lemon pound cake which everybody LOVED.
Faye was a loving, caring, giving, compassionate person with a big heart. Her life was truly an impeccable one and those who encountered her knew she was one of a kind. She never hesitated to help anyone in need.
Faye was preceded in death by her father, Charles Porch; mother, Vonell Porch; grandmother, Ethel Graves; husband, Lam Pruitt; cousin, Theresa "Sis" Roberson; brother, Paul Porch; cousin, Alex Wyatt. The loved ones she left to cherish her memories are her sisters, Charlotte Porch-Alexander and Natalia (Claude) Baudin, son, Philip (Naticia) Porche, Sr., daughter, Cathy (Lee) Campbell, eight (8) grandsons, Philip Porche, Jr., Brandon Porche, Bryan (Annie) Porche, Kristopher (Ashley) Porche, Braelon Porche, Simeon Porche, De'Shaun Gregory, and Darrin Gregory; six (6) great-grandchildren, Nia Symone Porche, Nasir Porche, Kennedi Elle Porche, Jaylee Love Porche, Kree Porche, Juniper Porche, cousins, Lovica and Demica Ware, Keyan Jumper, Keyna Jumper, Demica Ware, Lovie Robinson, Jackie Robinson, Chris Harrison, Virgil (Patricia) Harrison, and a host of other relatives, family, and friends.
Visitation is Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 12 noon until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. in the Church of God, M.P. G. of T. Burial will be Monday, December 30, 2024 at 1 p.m. in Rose Hill Burial Park.
