Mattie Gray, 99, of Springfield, Ohio passed away peacefully in her residence Thursday,   February 11, 2021.  She was born December 15, 1921 in Simmsville, Alabama the daughter  of  Lokie (Swain) and James Newton Mahan. Mrs. Gray retired after many years of dedicated service as a Home Health Care Provider.  She was a devoted member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great niece, church family and friends, including her caregiver Constance "Sister Connie" Applin.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Gray Sr.; sons, James Gray Jr. and Paul Gray; daughter, Marilyn Gray; brothers, Robert Mahan, Arthur Mahan, Carl Mahan and Willie Mahan; sisters Lillie Cosby and Lucille Duff.

Graveside service is Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 10 a.m. in Ferncliff Cemetery.
