Mary Ann "Spanky" Smith, 74, of Springfield, Ohio passed away December 17, 2016. She was born to Fred and Herberlene (Coleman) Johnson on November 8, 1942 in Springfield. Mary Ann graduated from Catholic Central High School and retired from Mercy Medical Center. She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Carolyn "Toodles" (Ron) Wakefield and Tara "Pebbles' Johnson; sons, Paul "Cricket" (Amy) Johnson, Jeffrey Johnson and Henry "Papa" Smith, Jr; sister, Charlene Johnson; brothers, Fremont "PeeWee" Johnson and Michael Johnson; adopted daughters, Coletta Coleman (Derrick) Stiles and Marlene Avery; special grandchildren, Donta Smith, Tierra Cobb and JaMar Smith; special niece, Alaisha "Mikki" Johnson; special great granddaughter, Treana Casey; special sister in law, Ann Baker; grandchildren, Juan, Paul, Trae, Amyah, Jeffrey Jr., Jeremiah, Harmony, Zontezz and Brandy; great grandchildren, Aleigha, Amerius, Alexus, Dontaya, Tritian, Treana, Terran, Ja'Aur and Julianna; step grandchildren, Spensir, Alexis and Adelyn and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry "Woody" Smith, Sr.; brothers, Wali Hasan, Fred Johnson, LaMar Johnson and Gregory Johnson; sister, Brenda McConnell; grandson, Chauncey Harris. Spanky loved to entertain with food, music, playing cards and the lottery. Family will receive friends and family at 233 W. Clark Street.
