Marva A. Hood, 86, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025. She was born July 11, 1938, in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Kermit and Clara (Knox) Hood.

Marva graduated from Springfield High School and attended Wittenberg University. She retired from D.E.S.C. after many years of dedicated service. Marva was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church, United Senior Services and The Retirement Set. She loved to play Bid Whist and Bridge and excelled at both.

Marva’s memory will be cherished by her sons, Carlton L. Hood of Springfield, Ohio and Brian (Pilar) Hood of Massachusetts; a sister, Linda Higgenbotham of Springfield, Ohio; sister-in-law, Emma Jean Hood; a special cousin, Marsha “Susie” Norris and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Kermit Hood and William “Bill” Hood and aunts, Annabelle Norris Smith and Edna Mae Watkins

Visitation is Monday, December 22, 2025 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon in Covenant United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
