Mrs. Marlyn B. Roberts, 94, of Springfield, Ohio departed this life on her birthday, December 1, 2016. She was born near Waverly, Ohio on December 1, 1922 a daughter of Ira J. and Georgia Jackson. Mrs. Roberts was a faithful and devoted member of the North Street and New North Street A.M. E Church since 1946, where she was active in many church organizations. Over 70 years, she sang in three church choirs and often sang solos. She was united in matrimony to Edward Roberts in 1947. Mrs. Roberts leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted children, Re'Nelle "Ronni" Roberts, Debra (Kel) Crum, Sheryl Holmes and Lamar (Virginia) Roberts, 10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many friends including very special friends, Nancy Perymon, Marjorie Hinton, Harold and Carolyn Rankin and Martha Walls and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and other relatives. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a son, Michael; two sisters, Laura Norvell and Florence Artis; two brothers, Cicero Jackson and Estil Jackson; a great grandson, Tavon Hamilton, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
