Obituary

Marjorie Louise Westbrooks, 90, of Springfield, departed this life August 17, 2015. She was born January 22, 1925 in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of Charles Henry and Annie Inez (Smith) Black, Sr. Mrs. Westbrooks was a devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she was very active in many church organizations. She was also active in Church Women United, Springfield District of the Western Union and other organizations. She loved to travel and over the years she had organized many interesting trips throughout the country. She loved her family and enjoyed taking time to share many wonderful moments with them. As she spoke, she captured your attention with her eloquent manner of speaking. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving son and daughter and their spouses, Hunter and Cyndi Brigham and Jewel and Kevin Hall all of Springfield; a sister, Mary Goings; her loving grandchildren, Tiffany, Brandelyn and Seven Hall and Monica and Shá Brigham; nephews, Steven and Dr. Yvonne Black, Dr. Charles H. Black, nieces, Sharon Johnson and Dr. Jacqueline and Woodrow Davis; great nephews, Daniel, Woodrow, Tyler, Charles and Gianna Black and Cedric Corburn; special friends, Lacrecia Glass, JoAnn Williams and her daughter, Stacy and a number of other nieces, nephews, cousins, her Mt. Zion Church Family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Jewell Brigham and her second husband, Elijah Westbrooks; a brother, Charles Henry Black, Jr. and a sister, Anna Elizabeth Jackson.
