Marie Edley, one of 11 children, born May 6, 1947 to the union of Rev. Harry E. and Martha Marshall passed away on March 12, 2020 in her residence.  She was a graduate of Springfield South High School Class of 1965.  After graduating she relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where she was employed as a Civil Service employee at the Old Fairfield State Mental Health Hospital for over 5 years.  She also worked in Springfield, Ohio at Perkins for over 15 years where she met numerous people within the community most importantly a very special friend, Mrs. Faye Benson.

Marie resided in Morehead, Kentucky where she attended Morehead State University and later graduated from Tri-State Beauty Academy in 1986.  She returned to Springfield, Ohio becoming a licensed cosmetologist working under the direction of Patty Gentry-Young.

Her christian faith served her throughout her entire life, becoming an associate minister at Restored Life Ministries in Springfield,Ohio where she attended faithfully until her health began to fail.  It was her faith in God that motivated her as well as inspired her to author the book IN GOD'S HANDS.

She is survived by her son, W. E. Hennessee Sr.; two gandsons, Wayne E. Hennessee Jr. and W. Elliott Hennessee; three sisters, Claudette Marshall, Virginia Marshall and Joyce Marshall; a brother, Steve Marshall; two nieces who went out of their way to help her, Paula Marshall and Whitney Mack along with a host of other relatives and friends.  Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and her second husband, Walter D. Edley, two sisters and four brothers.
