IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mamie Louise
(Trice) Allen
February 25, 1930 – August 13, 2021
On Tuesday, February 25, 1930, in southwestern Kentucky God, in his infinite wisdom, gave the world a gift in Mamie Louise Trice. She was the only child of Rose Ann Anderson (Trice) who raised and nurtured her in the word of God and the church. At a young age, after her family relocated to New Providence, TN she gave her life to God at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church near Trent, KY. There, she grew in her faith. At the tender age of 17 she married John Andrew Allen, the eldest of nine. It's interesting to note that the families had known each other for some time and Mamie had pretty much become a part of the Allen's family prior to their marriage. Soon afterwards the couple relocated to Dayton Ohio in search of better opportunities. To this couple a child came into their lives, whom they named John Alvin. Soon afterwards they relocated to Springfield Ohio. After years of working as a domestic, she came into her calling while working in the Springfield school system as a teacher's aide in elementary schools where she gave of herself unselfishly to every child she could reach. She was a proud member of Peoples Baptist Church as well as the Springfield Missionary Society for many years. She was also a proud foster parent for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, John Andrew Allen, in 1969. She leaves to celebrate her homegoing: one son, John Alvin (Vicci L.); five grandchildren, Thandi M. Hughes, Kofi R. Allen (Rashida), Ameer K. Allen, Ariel D. Smith (Jamard), & Taurin L. Hickman: four great-grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor, Kensley, and Nikolas, and a special relationship with Birdie Mims (cousin) as well as a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
