Madell E. "Oats" Warfield , 77, of Springfield, known to many as the "Mayor Of Center Street", passed away peacefully in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born November 22, 1937 in Springfield, Ohio a son of Alfred and Camille (Ward) Warfield. Mr. Warfield served in the Army National Guard and was a professional barber for many years. He is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice (Smith) Warfield; his loving daughter, Camille Davis; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Stephen Warfield, Lamar and Donna Warfield and Gerald Warfield; a sister and brother-in-law, Carla and Larry Smith; his stepmother, Eleanor Warfield and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Carrie Beatrice Warfield and two brothers, Michael and Keith Warfield. Visitation for Mr. Warfield will be Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday in the Catherine Street Church of God, 515 Catherine Street with Bishop Michael Cooper officiating.
