Lillie Mae Jarrett, 88, passed away peacefully mid-morning Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Villa of Springfield. Born, November 11, 1929 in Salisbury, NC. A daughter of the late Jonas and Agnus (Crow) Peterson. Lillie retired from Wittenberg University after 20+ years of service. She was a member of Greater Grace Temple and attended faithfully until her health failed her. Lillie leaves to cherish her loving memory two sons, Paul (Brenda) Jordan and Timothy (Sylvia) Jarrett; two daughters, Vonzella (Roosevelt) Avery and Marchelle (Eric Thomas) Jarrett; twenty-two grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren; one brother, William ZL (Evelyn) Peterson; five sisters-in-law, Lillie Peterson, Betty Huland, Rosemary Arnold, Mae Holmes and Vicky Jarrett; spiritual daughter, Darlene (Michael) White; one Godson, Danny (Kathy) Channey and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Robert Jarrett; one daughter, Sandra Thomaston, one son, Robert (Pete) Jarrett, one grandson and one great grandson, four brothers and eight sisters.
