Lester Jordan Jr., 78 of Springfield, Ohio passed away Friday January 9, 2026 quietly at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 8, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Lester and Lucille (Jacobs) Jordan Sr. He attended Springfield South High School and graduated in 1965. He loved skating where he met the love of his life Mary (Taylor) Jordan whom he was married to for 58 years. He served in the Army a Vietnam Veteran receiving a purple heart and was honorably discharged. He was employed at International Harvester (Navistar) where he was a millwright and he retired in 2001. He learned about the plumbing business from his father and later became a Plumbing Journeyman running his own business that he retired from. He owned multiple rental properties. He loved fishing, playing dominos, chess, pool, cards, barbequing, and frying fish while listening to jazz and the oldies but goodies with his family and friends. He dedicated his life to Jehovah God and was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness on 12/24/2011 dying as a faithful servant.
He is preceded in death by both parents, Lester and Lucille Jordan Sr.; his daughter, Leslie Marie Jordan; his brother, Norman Jordan; his nephew, Larry Jordan Jr., three infant nephews; brother-in-law, Alfred Gee; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Taylor, Margaret Hawkins and Evelleen Pettus.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 58 years, Mary (Taylor) Jordan; his four children, Wayne “Tony” (Terisa) Jordan, Lester “Brian” (Trista) Jordan, Dana (Carol Nixon) Jordan, and Tynisa “Nisa” Jordan; eight grandchildren, Taylor, Tamara, Tamia, Enjenai, Tyra, Brian, Amari, and Sarai. He has eight great grandchildren and two more on the way. His four siblings, Daisy Gee, Sylvester (Teresa) Jordan, Larry (Tresa) Jordan, and Ernest Jordan. His sisters-in-law, Anita McMillan and Shirley Taylor; brothers-in-law, Donald (Eva) Taylor, Sr. and Marvin (Mary) Taylor. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 2 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He will be laid to rest on Monday, February 2, 2026 in Dayton National Cemetery at 11 a.m. Please join the family for a repast after the service on Saturday at the Union Hall #402.
