Obituary

LaVonda  "Vonnie" Eubanks, born on January 19, 1948, in Springfield, Ohio, went home to glory on October 23, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of Robert Green and Joan 'Harshaw' Bronston, who both preceded her in death.

Vonnie's memory lives on with her three loving children, Rollanda (Jeff) Vauls, Shawn (De'Angelia) Huggins, and Victor Eubanks, Jr.  She held each of them dear to her heart. She was the proud grandparent of 13 loving grandchildren whom she adored. Ronnesha, Rashunda, Rakeisha, Raychell "Precious", Taviýon (Alexsis), T'erra, Josiah, T'yana, Ta'vonna, Ta'laya, Londyn, Sadie, and Story.

Vonnie is survived by her two sisters, LaSchell Green and Dybra 'Green' Boswell.  She was also preceded in death by her former husband of 20 years, Victor Eubanks Sr., and her two siblings, Bobby Green and Tynia "Green" Mynatt.

Her legacy of a life filled with meaningful acts of love and service will carry on through her 11 great-grandchildren, Areiana, Iyana, Corey, Timbre, Trinity, R'shiya, Te'Yone, Riyahn, Raelyn, Carter, and Don'Asti, whom she cherished deeply.

Vonnie also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends who respected and admired her dearly, shared in her joyful spirit, and will forever miss her.

Vonnie graduated from Springfield South High School in 1966, and she set out on a journey to share the message of love and hope. For over 30 years, she was a devoted and committed member of Restored Life Ministries (formerly Saint Luke Baptist Church), and she served as the Leader of the Benevolence Ministry. Her commitment to her faith and her wish to illuminate the lives of those in need showcased her joyful and generous spirit. After 38 years of being a loyal and dedicated employee at YSI Incorporated in Yellow Springs, Ohio, she retired in 2013, without ever missing a single day of work. After retiring, she devoted herself to volunteering. Included among the locations are the Second Harvest Food Bank and Saint John's Lutheran Church Food Pantry. Additionally, she founded and chaired "Blessing Bags of Love," which provided meals for over 200 individuals. Furthermore, she founded and chaired "Ice-Cream Blessings," an initiative that brought together individuals of all ages and backgrounds to connect and share in the gospel.

Vonnie was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. Please remember her not for the way her life concluded, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be remembered for the way she lived her life and for the profound impact she had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Apart from her missionary and visionary endeavors, Vonnie cherished the moments spent with family and friends. She never met a stranger. For more than three decades, she served as the host and chair for all social, holiday, and special event celebrations within her immediate and extended family. She was an exceptional cook, and a highly talented and skillful dancer. She had a passion for music and line-dancing. She possessed remarkable skill in crocheting. She truly loved traveling, playing volleyball, family games (board, cards, rhythm, puzzles, gestures), reading, writing notes, and watching movies especially cowboy films, which were her favorite.

Those who knew Vonnie will recall her infectious smile and contagious laughter, her faith in Jesus, and her steadfast dedication to spreading love and kindness to all she met. She had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.

Even though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit will persist in inspiring and uplifting our lives. May her memory be a source of inspiration, and may we continue to uphold her legacy of love and compassion in everything we undertake. Sweet Vonnie, your light will always be bright down here in our hearts as you continue to cover us from above.
