Johnny C. McCoy, 70, of Springfield, Ohio, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, passed away on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, at Mansfield Methodist Medical Center in Mansfield, Texas. Johnny was born October 21, 1951, to Johnny C. McCoy Sr. and Amanda Lou Riggins and attended Springfield South High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He was a member of The House of Prayer and was a believer of Jesus Christ. He was a great father and a devoted grandfather.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Phillip C. McCoy and Theophilous McCoy; eleven aunts and one uncle on his father's side and two uncles and five aunts on his mother's side.
Johnny leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life, his wife, Novolla "Fran" McCoy, three biological daughters, Talicia E. McCoy of Ocala, Fla., Jacqulin F. McCoy of Arlington, Texas and Erica D. Graves of Springfield, Ohio; a biological son, Johnny (Melissa) McCoy III. Special mention, Giovanna Beteta, Dominic McCoy, Shadon McCoy, La Mista Hernandez and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; special mention to Naomi McCoy, not only was he her grandfather, but also her best friend; one brother, Alonzo (Sandy) McCoy and sister, Mary Alice (Gary) Gilbert both of Springfield, Ohio, and a host of cousins, many nieces, nephews and friends.
